I have been running je et nous since 2003, based in a traditional Japanese townhouse in Nara. Living in Nara, I have drawn endless inspiration from the landscapes where deer roam, and created a shop that offers accessories and small items themed around these graceful creatures.

Adjacent to the main space is je et nous Annex, a tatami-room gallery where I collect and sell objects that embody the beauty and charm of Japan’s Shōwa era—such as folk crafts, match labels, and vintage Japanese glassware. It is a place where the “beauty of Shōwa” continues to be shared today.

This website introduces the collections I have assembled over more than 30 years as an art dealer. From Shōwa-era compacts to other examples of Japanese decorative crafts, each piece represents a small world that fits in the palm of one’s hand—holding within it the aesthetics of Japanese women of that era, and the refined beauty of Japan’s intricate craftsmanship.
